In 2021, Priyanka Chopra revealed in her book “Unfinished” to have undergone several operations to correct her nose. At the origin of these operations, a failed surgery to remove a benign tumor in his nasal cavity. While trying to remove it, the surgeon unfortunately destroyed his nasal bone. A surgery that deeply affected the former Miss World 2020.
Two years later, she looks back on this traumatic experience at the microphone of the American show “The Howard Stern Show”.
“It was a dark phase”
After the operation, her nose changes shape and her face becomes “completely different”, she shares. A difficult period for the actress who ends up entering “a very deep depression” to the point that she no longer wants to leave her home.
Beyond the impact on his mental health, this operation will also have effects on his professional life. Priyanka Chopra reveals she was fired from three movies after undergoing this surgery. Which leads her to think that “a career was over before it even started”. To remedy this, encouraged by her doctor father, she had to undergo surgery several times.
In her book “Unfinished”, the actress evoked having nevertheless managed to accept herself and to finally change her vision on this failed operation: “Although I had the feeling of seeing a stranger in the mirror for a few years I got used to that face. Now when I look at myself, I’m more surprised. I’ve reconciled with this slightly different me,” she explains.
And to add: “It’s my face. It’s my body. I may not be perfect, but I am me.”
