By recording 133 and 128 tackles, respectively, he won a number of awards, namely, the Butkus Award, for the nation’s top linebacker and the Nagurski Trophy, for the nation’s top defensive player. Thus, it can be concluded that his sophomore and junior seasons were more impressive.

Manti became the team captain for his senior season, and he guided the Fighting Irish to an undefeated regular season and a spot in the BCS National Game. He again became a consensus All-American after he finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting.

He started 13 games, recorded 93 tackles, one interception, and one sack in his rookie season. With the Chargers, over the course of 4 seasons, he started 34 games and recorded 221 tackles. 2 interceptions, and 1.5 sacks.

Manti signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans after becoming a free agent in 2017. Starting in 14 games and recording 107 tackles and four sacks, he played two seasons with the Saints.

Again in 2019, he signed a year contract with the New Orlean Saints, but he was released before the start of the regular season. After that year, he signed up with the Chicago Bears and started in 4 games, recording six tackles.

Throughout the course of his six-season NFL career, he made a total of around $10.4 million with his salary and incentive.
